As an independent software consultant. We carried out the verification of safety related software integrity during acceptance tests. The software functionality includes the monitoring and control of the Fuelling/de-fuelling machine during de-fuelling operations to ensure all spent nuclear fuel elements are removed from the reactor as part of the Station decommissioning programme.
British Nuclear Fuels Ltd subsequently achieved acceptance of the relevant safety case and successfully removed fuel as part of the Station de-commissioning programme.
